She’s Done It! – Sagunto, Spain 27/06/08
EARTHRACE SMASHES SPEED RECORD!
When Earthrace set off back at the end of April in her attempt to break the existing world global circumnavigation we were all hoping that she’d succeed. During this time we’ve all been avidly following the website blogs; from the delights of huge shoals of flying fish to the worries of broken rudders and drive shafts.
However, on Friday 27th June in Sagunto, near Valencia in Spain Earthrace returned to claim the record, two weeks quicker than the record previously held by the UK boat, Cable and Wireless Adventurer!
As official translation and interpreter sponsor for Earthrace, PUSH International would like to offer massive congratulations to this amazing boat, her resilient onboard crew and the dedicated ground crew for both securing this record and doing such a lot to raise the profile of bio-fuel benefits and the negative impact of carbon emissions.
Although work commitments meant that PUSH International’s staff couldn’t be there at the moment Earthrace returned to Sanguto, we packed our bags, jumped on a plane to Valencia and headed off to the crew and sponsor’s party for the weekend at the first opportunity.
Here are some pictures of Earthrace’s return and also some pictures from the victory party in Spain.

...and two of PUSH International’s project managers were there to see them off!
Kelly Hoare and Roxane Fauconnier-Tola, the PMs most involved in co-ordinating the translation and interpreting assignments for Earthrace, flew over to Southern Spain, to attend the pre-launch party and see Earthrace herself off on her amazing voyage.
PUSH are proud to continue their association with this stunning, space-aged wave-piercing trimaran – ongoing translation and interpreting activities will continue at various stopping points and of course, our logo takes pride of place amongst fellow sponsors on the wings of Earthrace to be seen the world over.
We wish her and the crew the very best of luck and wait with baited breath for updates.

Does seeing the frighteningly high costs for your website rollout give you a bad hair day? Do you reckon you’ll need a lot more than gel to keep this one under control?
Well, PUSH International can help to smooth things down somewhat!
Back in the good old days translating a website was easy. You sent us your files, we translated them and sent them back, fixed and ready to go. Easy!
Then sites got bigger, someone invented e-business, and content management systems arrived.
Then you wanted lots of updates, with local promotions and features, things that could be downloaded and uploaded, pop-ups, data-collection and … and well the list just goes on!
Now sites with several thousand pages and a wealth of e-business features are commonplace. And the cost of rolling out and maintaining these sites for multilingual, multicultural markets has become a major strategic and financial consideration.
So we felt it was time to put some of the ‘easy’ back into website translation. PUSH International is unique in their approach to multilingual website rollout. We place as much emphasis on delivering budget management as we do on linguistic excellence.
Our workflow management technology (TRANSport) makes PUSH a part of your website CMS from the outset. We make it possible for you to have a single, fully integrated content and translation workflow management environment – making the need to tear your hair out in despair a thing of the past!
The benefits
- Content translation workflow can be automated; management costs are dramatically reduced
- Integration with proven translation technologies delivers a much lower roll-out and ongoing maintenance cost – 40% savings can typically be achieved.
- Translated content is fed directly back into your site; human involvement and therefore margin for error, is eliminated
- Integration with your existing CMS is straightforward with realistic implementation costs
If you are considering entering new, online markets, contact PUSH International now and find out how we can give you more markets for your money!

PUSH International was
retained in June ’06 to translate the new Rentokil website
for Spain. PUSH is now working in very close partnership
with Rentokil supporting their global website rollout programmes.
Rentokil is the worlds’ premiere business
environment specialist, operating in 40 countries delivering a comprehensive
range of professional services that help keep commercial and domestic
environments free of undesirable guests!
Because of the specialized topics presented
in the websites, PUSH has developed extensive terminologies
for Rentokil that will form the core of every future translation.
And detailed attention to workflow and quality
process ensures that regardless of whether PUSH
is translating detailed information about bugs, or key facts for
investors; Rentokil can be confident that PUSH
will deliver a consistently high-quality service.
CMS workflow integration
Key to this integration was the fact that
PUSH International commenced development of TRANSport
an automated translation workflow tool in 2004. Since then TRANSport has been developed into an effective content translation workflow
system, quickly able to integrate with clients’ own CMS workflow
environment.

TRANSport has
been designed to provide an easy-to-implement interface with the
clientside CMS, allowing XML output to be pointed directly at TRANSport.
TRANSport then
automates the workflow process, enabling fast processing of XML
files with no risk of data corruption during translation.
Adopting TRANSport
allows users to retain the advantages of cost and quality leveraging
which can often be lost if no direct workflow between CMS and translation
exists. Translated files undergo QA and are archived as part of
the roundtrip back to the CMS.
TRANSport will
provide a comprehensive activity reporting via a browser interface
allowing clients to monitor work progress. Archived source and target
files can be accessed at any time.
TRANSport can
also be used by organizations needing a central translation resource
that requires monitored at several user levels. TRANSport
delivers an environment that is secure, can be used by multiple
users within an organization and provides a complete, downloadable
audit trail for each user.
Leveraging
PUSH International is able
to deliver cost and quality efficiencies through use of several
generic and bespoke professional translation tools.

Faster throughput of translated
material enables tight timelines to be met |

PUSH
International win Translation Support contract with Barclays Bank
PLC. 01/04/06 PUSH had already worked
with Barclays for the previous 12 months, translating time-critical
corporate communications. When Barclays decided to rationalize its
outsourcing requirements, PUSH were asked to submit
their formal tender and were subsequently awarded the two-year contract
in February of 2006, to support all Barclays’ group translation
activities.
PUSH International recognizes an important factor
for corporate translation users is the provision of powerful management
tools; allowing clients to maintain close control over their translation
procurement process.
With that very purpose in mind, PUSH has invested
significantly in a bespoke management system that allows clients
operating in multiple locations to manage every aspect
of their translation procurement; requests for estimates, ordering,
translation asset management, project & financial reporting,
audit trails and payment.
This information is available online and can also be downloadable
ready for introduction directly into client-side management and
accounting environments.
