Translation agency news: Printing.com makes Netherlands acquisition

UK-based company Printing.com may seek out the services of a translation agency as a result of an acquisition that will see it buy the share capital of a Netherlands contemporary.

Media Facility Group (MFG) provides a similar product to Printing.com and will be bought for a total consideration of €1 million (£864,000), as well as the issue of some ordinary shares.

"This provides an excellent opportunity for Printing.com to further exploit its intellectual property within the eurozone," said chief executive Tony Rafferty.

Hans Scheffer, managing director of the Dutch organisation, added that the partnership is a better solution than carrying out development single-handedly.

Mr Scheffer will continue in his existing role, but will join the board of directors at Printing.com as a result of the agreement.

The UK enterprise has recently posted half-yearly results that show it achieved total retail sales of £13.07 million, which equates to turnover of £7.1 million and £620,000 profit.

Translator news: Jet Airways launches new flights to Sri Lanka

Passengers looking for more frequent flights to Sri Lanka might be pleased to hear that Jet Airways has increased the number of layovers it makes to the nation.

Delhi and Mumbai will be serviced from Colombo on a daily basis from today (November 5th) and arranging the connections may have called for a professional translator service.

Sudheer Raghavan, chief communications officer at the carrier, said: "Jet Airways is delighted to provide direct links from the financial and the national capital to the [island]."

He pointed out that the destination is becoming more popular among business travellers as well as those enjoying a holiday.

Onward travel from the two Indian cities can be arranged to locations in the US, Europe, the Middle and Far East and the Gulf.

What's more, those heading to Hong Kong in time for the Cricket Sixes tournament – which starts tomorrow (November 6th) – may embark on one of Jet Airways' official flights, some of which will host players from Indian, Sri Lankan, English and South African teams.
