General Motors (GM) has hired a London-based group to help promote the manufacturer in 140 countries in a £1.9 bn deal, making GM the group’s largest client in the world.
Aegis Group will also cover services including mobile communications and social media strategy, except in India, China and Brazil.
The deal, expected to start in April, will cover a number of years and should make around £35 million for the company in 2012, say media reports. It was described as “the most significant new business win in Aegis Group’s history” by the group’s chief executive Jerry Buhlmann.
“We’re extremely proud to have been selected by GM as their global media partner,” said Mr Buhlmann, adding it showed Aegis Media’s unique ability to deliver globally integrated and specialist media and digital communications services.
The group looked forward to delivering years of innovation and value for GM, he said.
